Capital Budget

A capital budget helps organizations plan for large expenditures and ensures that there are sufficient funds available for significant investments. It typically includes projected costs, timelines, funding sources, and expected returns on investment. It aids in making informed decisions about which projects to undertake based on their potential financial impact and alignment with strategic goals. In the Capital Budget page, view and create multi-level financial plans, providing a structured approach to allocate resources effectively.

Navigate to Admin > Capital Budget.

Create subordinate capital budgets

After creating a capital budget, you can add multiple levels of subordinate budgets to break down the overall allocation into smaller, more detailed plans. This structure helps organize budgets by categories, projects, or departments, ensuring better tracking and management of funds.

  1. In Admin > Capital Budget, click the budget name.

  2. On the SUB 1 page, click New in the Level 1 - subordinate budgets section.

  3. On the Capital Budget Detail page, enter the information for the subordinate budget, which are the same as those in the Create capital budget section.

While some information might align with the main budget, you can customize other fields to reflect the specific scope of the subordinate budget.

  4. Click Save.

Repeat the process to create more subordinate budgets, building a hierarchy of budgets to match your financial planning needs.
